Overview: Specially formulated enzyme blend for sugarcane conversion to maximise the release of fermentable sugars from sugarcane juice, molasses, and lignocellulosic residues such as bagasse for bioethanol production. This enzyme system typically includes invertase, cellulase, xylanase, and β-glucosidase. Invertase hydrolyses sucrose into glucose and fructose for rapid fermentation, while cellulase and xylanase act on the fibrous bagasse to break down cellulose and hemicellulose into simple sugars. β-Glucosidase further enhances sugar yield by converting cellobiose to glucose. The key benefits of this enzymatic approach include higher total sugar recovery, improved ethanol yield, reduced energy and chemical inputs, and enhanced process sustainability. By optimising enzyme synergy for both sucrose-rich and fibrous fractions of sugarcane, these tailored blends enable a cost-effective, efficient, and environmentally friendly pathway for large-scale bioethanol production.
